Chef – Facility Staff
Lauren’s culinary roots started at a very young age, cooking in the kitchen and watching cooking shows with her great grandmother when she was in Kindergarten. As a graduate of the San Diego Culinary Institute, Lauren has had the opportunity to work in several fine dining restaurants, including working for celebrity chef Brain Malarkey at Herringbone in La Jolla, CA. She has also worked in a variety of catering positions and was the banquet chef for the San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park before coming to Apex Recovery.
In her spare time, Lauren tries to stay active in her community by volunteering at the San Diego Humane Society and The Rescued Dog. She is also a big supporter of the local music scene, and spends a lot of time watching her friends perform at local venues. A true San Diegan, Lauren is a dedicated Charger fan and proud season ticket holder. On weekends, you can find her cooking for her friends, or planning and catering small private events. One day, she hopes to open her own food truck dedicated to her great grandmother, the woman who planted the roots for her culinary career.
